The department provides a travel and accommodation subsidy for apprentices and trainees who are required to travel at least 100kms return to attend training in relation to their apprenticeship or traineeship.

The fastest way to apply for the travel and accommodation subsidy is via Travel and Accommodation Online—allowing eligible apprentices and trainees to electronically lodge travel and accommodation claims. Alternatively paper-based forms can be submitted via post, fax or email.
